The HumanTouch team can congratulate itself on another job well done. A critical milestone was reached on Friday, April 16, 2010, when the HumanTouch team completed the relocation of the Parklawn-based IT Test Lab to the new White Oak IT Test Lab facilities. This effort, lead by Christian Hanke, successfully transferred critical equipment, integrated systems, and restarted the Lab so that it was fully functional by Monday, April 19th. By minimizing down time, the HumanTouch team positioned FDA IT Lab users to continue their testing and R&D activates without major disruption to schedules and progress.
The team’s responsiveness and professionalism to this time-sensitive work was noted and appreciated. Jackie Bentsi Enchill, the project COTR, congratulated the HumanTouch team for its successful and on-time relocation and integration effort, and arranged a celebration to honor the team’s efforts with a luncheon held on April 29, 2010.
This relocation is part of the FDA IT Test Lab Modernization Project that integrates the disparate FDA IT labs and positions the FDA to improve the speed with which applications and systems are designed, created, deployed, and maintained within the agency. The creation and operational support and management of an integrated IT Lab supports the FDA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), OIM and its Divisions, and OIM customer’s current and future IT initiatives. In turn, improvements coming out of these efforts will support the FDA business units by providing the robust infrastructure that is needed to enhance productivity and quality of services — fundamental to the agency fulfilling its public health mission.
HumanTouch is serving as principal support for this multi-year project, to include designing the architecture for the new facility, providing Operations and Maintenance, and providing ongoing user assistance.
